OUR HISTORY
THE FIRST GENERATION
Pastor Vince and Darcy have served as a ministry team for years. After years of serving at a church plant in Blaine, Vince and Darcy, and their two children Kaleb and Addyson, felt called to plant a church in their home town of Andover.
November, 2016 the Lord worked things together for His good and the beginnings of that church came to be a reality as we had our first service in the Activity Center at Bunker Hills Park in Andover. The original name of the church was Kadima Evangelical Church. The word “Kadima” is a Hebrew word that means “forward”. The foundational mission of the church is Upward | Outward | Forward: Loving God, Loving each other and then going forward and serving others.
Philippians 3:12 – 13
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.
In 2020 the congregation voted to change the name of the church to Generations. We wanted a name that better translated who we are; people from all ages that love the Lord – a group of imperfect people that serve a perfect God.
Even through the tumultuous days of COVID, we are beyond thankful to be able to continue to rent the facility at Bunker. We are excited as we look forward as a congregation to see how God is going to use us to bring more to know Him!
Starting in September, 2024, Generations will be holding our worship services at the YMCA in Andover. Anoka County needs to do some needed renovations on their HVAC system, preventing us from being able to rent the Bunker Facility through the end of the year
Our first service, November 27 2016.
Happy Anniversary. Looking back over the past 7 years
